We offer three different Railbike types including those which are adapted to safely carry a standard wheelchair, making Velorail a truly inclusive activity.
Assisted by our friendly staff, your group will board your Railbike at the restored Kiltimagh Station. Under your own steam, your group will propel yourselves using pedal power over either the North or South route. Our Staff will be part of the group departing Kiltimagh Station and will be on hand at all times to assist with any needs you may have.
Velorail is an outdoor recreation to be undertaken at a leisurely pace. It’s not a sprint. Velorail is ideal for family groups, groups of friends, groups of work colleagues and lends itself ideally to corporate team building trips, sports teams undertaking team bonding sessions, and pretty much all other groups where a group activity is desirable.
Types of Rail bikes
At the turning point all the group will dismount the railbikes. The staff member will rotate the carts on the track. Following a short rest period, the group of carts will return to Kiltimagh Station.
2 seater Rail Bikes or 2 seater plus standard wheelchair (2 pedal)

Yes, all bookings must be made at least 2 hours in advance of departure and though our website.

Each Railbike is designed for a maximum number of passengers. A 4 seat Railbike carries up to 4 people. A 5 seat Railbike carries up to 5 people and so on. Each Railbike MUST have a minimum of one Lead Rider who must be over the age of 18 years, and one other rider over the age of 16 years, both of whom should have a moderate level of fitness.

There is ample parking on Station Road, right beside one of the Velorail entrance points which is clearly signposted.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to carry pets on the Railbikes at this time for safety reasons.

There isn’t a specific minimum age limit for children but, to participate, all riders need to be able to be seated in their own seat, and strapped in using the fitted lapbelt.

It is not permitted to carry a child on an adults lap for any part of the journey.
